Well, if there is one thing I’ve learned, it’s that you guys love a good room reveal and heck, I don’t blame you. (If you want to get caught up on some of the other room reveals I’ve done, you can find them here – living room, boys’ room, guest bath, dining room ) Who doesn’t love getting a peek into someone else’s home to steal some of their decorating sense? That’s probably one of my favorite things to do on Pinterest, but don’t we all?! Our Master Suite has been one space that I really took my time with trying to get just right. I can finally say, it’s come together exactly how I envisioned! There are a few things that I’d still like to work on finding, like artwork and changing out the lights above our bathroom mirrors, but that’s totally minor. I tend to redecorate like 5 million times, so it’s kind of always a work in progress. This is my latest decor and I really love how it’s looking, so I thought I’d share some pics with you!

If you ever had any doubts about the power of paint, I’m here to tell you, I’m a believer. When we bought our house two years ago, we lucked out in the fact that the typical builder’s beige was substituted for the trendiest color of the year, Sea Salt by SW. It’s a beautiful color, don’t get me wrong, but it was on every wall of our house. The minute we moved in, I had painters rush into all of the bedrooms and our laundry to change out the sickeningly sweet color to something more neutral. Give – me – all – the – greys. The color I chose for our bedroom was Requisite Grey by SW.

The other major thing that makes all the difference when it comes to the bedroom is the bedding. I was fortunate enough to have Downlite Bedding send a new down all-season comforter and a few pillows for us to review. I think things like this are pretty easy to define – either you love them or you don’t. There’s really no in between. So in this case, two thumbs up from this girl. Both the bedding and the pillows are ridiculously comfy and they’ve held up great in the wash. In my mind, it doesn’t get much better.
Our master bath was something I held out on for a bit and I’m so glad I did. Once our room took on a more distinct style, it helped to tie the bathroom in and we chose a darker paint color to really make the all-white tiles pop. We went with Sherwin Williams Peppercorn and it’s seriously my favorite. It’s easily the darkest room in our house, but it’s perfect for a bath. I wanted a color that would compliment the darker grays happening in our bedroom and I think this one works really well. I can’t say I would do a much larger room in it, because it is pretty hard to paint (it shows everything), but I did it myself so maybe if you had a professional it would be much easier to work with. It definitely turned our bathroom into the serene spa I was hoping for! Our new laundry basket really helps pull the space together. Thanks to Article for making all my Scandinavian decor dreams come true! (I used the matching serving bowl, that makes the perfect compliment, in our attached porch. Keep reading to see more!)

Since our toilet has it’s own space behind a door, I felt like it was a good place to hang some wood shelving for more storage. Thanks to Shelfology for providing the brackets we needed to make it happen. These were definitely a labor of love (and frustration!), but once they were done, I couldn’t be happier. The brackets are heavy duty and hide really well within the floating shelf. I’m notorious for putting too much on them, so these are great in the fact that I don’t have to worry about weight issues at all! They can handle just about anything and I’m up for the next challenge of finding just the right curated items for this tiny space. So far I just found this cute little basket to hide the extra paper rolls, the best smelling room spray, the cutest planter, and of course, a nicely scented candle.

We also replaced our builder standard overhead light with a hanging pendant. It brought more of a personal touch to the space and makes it a bit more romantic. My husband is “middle of the range” handy and he was able to hang it in about an hour. Changing light fixtures is another one of my power secrets that really change the impact of a room and they’re super affordable depending on where you shop. This one happens to be from Lowes, but I’ve also bought ones from Ikea, Overstock and Amazon.

When I saw this Home Spun sign on my feed on Instagram, I knew I had to have it. I placed the order not really having a home for it, but knew it was going somewhere in our bedroom for obvious reasons. It ended up fitting perfectly in this small space above our towel bars and I think it fits in well. Just a little reminder for us each morning that we’re here for the long haul. 😉
And last but not least, I’ll leave you with some shots of our master porch and some deets on sources. Our porch is a sanctuary for me and where I spend most of my kidless time once they’re in bed. It’s the perfect spot to just unwind. I love to go out there to read, meditate (headspace is a great app!), and bask in the silence of nature.
