In our upstairs landing, right when you hit the 2nd floor for the bedrooms, we had this weird indented space that we didn’t know what to do with. I guess in a way it’s nice to have the flexibility to put something like a desk there or in our case, we stored our huge floor mirror that we used to keep in our master. It served its purpose for the first 3 years we lived here, but my husband is a huge vintage book hoarder and it was getting out of control. With books being stored in our attic, garage, and pretty much every where I turned, it was time… SO TIME… for a designated place to store them. I had been loving the rolling ladders I was seeing on Pinterest and shows like Fixer Upper, so we got to work (well my handy husband did!) to turn the space into the library of our dreams. I think it turned out pretty well, what do you think?!

Thank you to Artisan Hardware for providing the rolling ladder. It was a breeze to install and completely makes the space for me. I’m still kind of in awe at how awesome and flawless this home project turned out and I have to owe it to my husband for putting up with my demands and vision. He’s always such a trooper, but I think he’s starting to catch on that it really does pay off in the end! 😉 For those wondering about paint colors – the back wall is Peppercorn SW 7674 and the exterior walls are Sea Salt SW 6204.
