Ohhh, summer. My absolute fave time of the year! Surfing waves at the beach, splashing around at the pool, and BBQs in the backyard all currently on our bucket-list. It’s all fun and games outdoors this time of year, so I like to switch it up every once in awhile and have an impromptu picnic in the air conditioning to avoid the South Carolina humidity and bugs. The kids love it because they get to eat on the floor and I love it because it’s way less work. 😉
Typically my husband is so good to us and cooks dinner for the family every night, but on the days he’s away for work, I whip out the unbreakable kiddie plates (from Re-Play) perfect for picnics or any sort of meal with the little ones (who are running around and accident prone). We recently had fun with an indoor Chik-fil-A picnic because mama is 9 months prego and has no energy for anything more than a drive-thru.
We’ve used this Re-Play tableware for the past year and it’s held up so well. They’re made from recycled plastic and you can read allll about how amazing they are in one of our past posts here. I often find myself saying, “don’t they make these in my size?!” and well, the team at Re-Play must have heard my cries because they’ve finally created larger tableware for the whole family. YES! Officially saying good-bye to paper plates and hello to environmentally friendly pieces, perfect for the summer season and the outdoors.
The larger Re-Play sizes (available in regular plates, divided plates, and bowls) will be available early summer 2018!

Sometimes it’s the little things that really make a difference in my boys’ eyes. Being able to pick-up Chik-fil-A for dinner on a random Wednesday night and bringing it home to put together a fun picnic in the living room, totally made their life. Sometimes as parents we feel like we need to go above and beyond, but it’s silly little things like this that make you realize your kids are just really looking for simple quality time with you. Pressing pause this summer is now definitely on the TOP of my to-do list!
