If you’re a parent, chances are you’re pretty familiar with the mega toy brand, Melissa & Doug. We’re big fans in our house and have been buying their products since Aden was a baby. We’ve come to be loyal customers simply because their toys have stood up to the abuse of 3 boys and still look brand spankin’ new. Not to mention, the brand embodies everything we want to encourage in our kids:
- Free Play
- Creativity
- Imagination
- Learning
- Discovery
This Christmas, we’re completely outnumbered and are buying for a newborn, a toddler, a five year old and a six year old (that thinks he’s 9). I’m crazy thankful for brands like M&D, that make it easy for me to shop for all 4 of them knowing the toys I’m buying are not only educational, but fun. So, being that Christmas is only 8 days away (!), if you’re looking for some last minute gift ideas for your little ones, I’m here to share our holiday hit list from Melissa & Doug that Santa will be putting under our tree this year. Best part is they’re all either available to pick up in store or on Amazon Prime…. ’cause Santa’s too busy to wait these days. 😉
Baby’s first Christmas
Large Plush Life-like Llama | ‘What Should I Wear’ soft book | Animal Pop Blocs
Melissa & Doug have a whole zoo of animals to choose from, but I went with this Llama for baby girl’s boho nursery. (Full reveal coming in the new year!) There’s not much you can get for a newborn for Christmas, but being our first girl, I wanted her to have her own set of little toys to play with as she becomes more mobile this Spring. These animal pop blocs are really cute for them to work on their hand and eye coordination and will grow with them as they go into toddler-hood. I also loved this soft book for her stocking.

Parking Garage | Band in a Box |Â Jumbo Wood Tool Kit | Tortilla Set
Cason has loved role playing lately and having just turned 18 months, he’s at the perfect age for it. This band in a box and jumbo tool kit will be a hit on Christmas morning. The tortilla set (and pretty much all of the food kits from Melissa & Doug) is something I wanted to add to his kitchen set for more cooking fun. We do Taco Tuesdays in our house, so this will be something I know he’ll really go to town with. He also loves cars, so this parking garage will definitely keep him entertained for hours.
4-7 yr gift picks
Play Money Set | USA Speaking Puzzle | Pirate Chest | Sushi Counter | Magnetivity Set
So as the boys get older, I’m finding it harder and harder to purchase things that will keep their interest. Something about school-aged boys that makes them full on gamers, so if it’s not the Nintendo Switch or an Ipad, they usually don’t want anything to do with it. Luckily there’s some things that I know will excite them on Christmas morning. They love playing pirates, so this pirate chest seems long overdue. The play money set not only will benefit them educationally, but they’ll love using their imaginations with it. I also picked up this USA speaking puzzle and Magnetivity set for Aden, who seeks out knowledge however and whenever he can. Hudson on the other hand likes to take his stab in the culinary arena, so this sushi counter is perfect for the boy who loves his “shu-shi”.
Our family always does one large gift for all of the kids from Santa. In year’s past, we’ve done a trampoline or bikes. This year, Santa is thinking about getting the boys a grocery. How cute is this?! Their very own store complete with stock and a grocery cart. I love that they can learn to be little entrepreneurs while having fun taking a stab at shopping their grocery lists.
Santa’s Pick:
There are so many amazing gift ideas for every age and Melissa & Doug toys are heirloom quality that will last for years to come. They’re also really reasonable and affordable and on PRIME for any last minute shoppers like me.
Merry Christmas from our family to yours!
