Back to School time means many things but one crucial piece of the puzzle around here is what they will use to carry around all their stuff. There’s so much to consider, including functionality, durability, and style. I’ve rounded up a few of our favorites to help make your lives a little easier as you make all your last minute preparations!
First up, we have the Shark backpack from SoYoung. My boys love the striking plant, animal, and even robot images in so many bold and bright colors with matching trim. I am partial to the raw linen look and the fact that they are machine washable (pretty much a must with two boys). These backpacks come in toddler and grade school sizes which is great because you know when big brother has something, little brother has to have it too! They really thought of everything with this backpack; it also has a chest clip, name tag, interior and exterior pockets, and is PVC, Phthalate, Lead and BPA Free.

Next up, the Recess Bag from Backpacks with a Purpose. From internal dividers to exterior ID card holders, carabineer loops, and exterior pockets this bag has everything you need for organized storage. The whole family is in agreement that the best feature is the headphone port (seriously, so smart!). But the best thing about this backpack isn’t the bag at all. For every bag they sell, Backpacks with a Purpose donates two to the non-profit partners of your choice. These partners then fill them with food or supplies and distribute them to the community.

Third there’s Cat & Jack’s Dino Backpack, available at Target. This was a bit of an impulse purchase, but the boys love the dinosaurs and how much they can shove into this HUGE bag. I’d definitely have to say my favorite aspect is the price 😉

Our last bag is a knapsack from As Darling Does. My younger son favored this one as it is just his size. He puts his figurines in it and wears it around the house! This truly is the bag for little ones as young as 1 year and makes a great activity bag for the car. They bags are lined on the inside for a quick wipe down, and come in a wide variety of colors. There is also a version with feet which is a great feature because somehow kids manage to get anything sticky and dirty from ground level surfaces on everything.

Lastly, to go in that perfect pack, how about these flashcards from Papery Pier?! This momma is a HUGE fan of flashcards as they are a great way to teach everything from alphabet to numbers, shapes to animals in a way kids find fun and engaging. My boys love the bright colors and animal noises. Hey, I’m all for things that work AND make life easier! No matter which backpack you choose you really can’t go wrong so scratch it off the To Do List and let’s countdown to BACK TO SCHOOL!!
