Hey guys! It’s been awhile, hasn’t it?
There’s been so much going on with home projects since January, but rightly so. I’ll be able to share more exciting news on the why with you a bit later next week, but until then, I wanted to hop on here to share a recent update we made to the boys’ shared bath. It’s a jack and jill style, smack dab in the middle of Cason’s nursery and Aden + Hudson’s new pad (which you can see here).
When we first moved into this house a few years ago, their bath was something I totally neglected. I had our painters throw up some paint in a bold color I found on Pinterest and we pretty much called it a day. After Cason was born, bathing 3 kids in there became less than compelling and I really wanted to give it a makeover. Let me tell you, their bathroom needed a full on rehab, but after completing a bunch of other really big home projects, our budget (and time) was tight, so I had to get creative. Just take a look at those bath fixtures and yellow tiles in the before shot! My mis-hung shower curtain really is the cherry on top.

I mean come on – look at that tile! It’s a peachy beigish yellow and the grout is just screaming for attention. To it’s defense, it’s been abused a bunch of toddler boys and has seen itself through potty training and one too many misses of the toilet. yuck.

This room doesn’t get a lot of light so I wanted to move away from the dark walls and decided to go a little lighter. Okay, a lot lighter. It’s definitely bold for me to go full on white, but I love it in this room and it makes it so much brighter. I am so happy with how it turned out. Before I get to the good stuff, we also replaced the faucet and cabinet hardware. Which was super easy and cheap! (I’ll go ahead and link everything for you below.) The lights were also desperately in need of a change out from the builder-grade ones, so I was tickled (yes, yes I was.) to find these statement pieces from Young House Love’s new line with Shades of Light. They literally make my heart burst when I see them and one of the first things I picked out for this space. Look at the difference it made in the before | afters below…

So, what do you think? A drastic change isn’t it? We added the removable wallpaper from Rocky Mt Decals above to the upper half of the wall and carried the board & batten all the way around the room to keep the look consistent. Although my husband may have disagreed at the time – best. decision. ever.

Now let’s talk floors, shall we? – when we moved into this house I knew that I had to do something about the tile. I hated it! I knew when I started my inspiration board for this room that I wanted to do some type of black and white tile. However, the more I began to look into it, all of the tile that I loved was SO expensive and I was worried about the cost of replacing the tile and honestly didn’t want to have to worry about the headache. And then I stumbled upon Quadrostyle Stickers and my day was made. Quadrostyle provides affordable tile stickers for floors, walls, backsplash, stairs, and more! They’re amazing and so easy! When I found out that I could remodel the boys’ bathroom floor at a fraction of the price and time, I said sign me up. One of my favorite things about the entire process was the install. It was so fast and painless, I did it myself in under 3 hrs one evening. I ended up going with the “Zig-zag Black” style and I love how it turned out! They totally remind me of my favorite cement tiles by Commune for a fraction of the cost.

Before ordering the floor, I emailed customer service and gave them the number of tiles I needed to cover and the measurements and they were able to assist me with my order to make sure I didn’t order too little or too much. I received my stickers in about a week and got right to work!
Here’s step by step of how I did it:
- I prepped the tiles by using my thieves cleaner to clean the area with a paper towel. I did this to get rid of any dirt, dust, sand, etc.
- I laid out the tiles in the pattern to make sure I had enough before starting to adhere. Because I’m also a perfectionist, I laid out the whole pieces first and then went through and added the smaller pieces that I knew would need trimming.
- Then I was ready to install! To install the tile, all you do is peel off the backing from the sticker and adhere it to your tile. It’s very important to make sure that you double check when you line your tile up that they don’t overlap. If this happens it could cause your stickers to come up when you vacuum or sweep.
- Next came the trimming – I put the sticker down on the tile and then trimmed the excess off with a box cutter.
- At the very end, I went back around to each one and smoothed out the edges with my hands to make sure there were no ripples or bubbles.

Guys – it was SO EASY! From start to finish, this project took me just under 3 hours and I had a brand new floor! To say I’m obsessed is an understatement and you guys would not believe the how well they’ve been holding up. I am already planning on using them for my laundry room and upstairs bathroom! For having 3 little boys in there at bath time – lots of splashing and playing – they’ve done INCREDIBLE! And the best part is no one can believe it when I tell them that their floor are stickers! We have had them for about 3 months and they still look absolutely perfect. Honestly, I would highly recommend Quadrostyle floor tiles to anyone that is wanting to revamp a space in their home without making such a big commitment.
To finish off the look, I added some black, white, and amber accents to tie everything together.

The transformation of this bathroom is one of my favorites and it has definitely been up there as one of the easiest home projects for us to date. If you guys have any questions about the process, renovation, etc. I would be happy to answer them – just leave it in the comments below!
I was given product from Quadrostyle & Shades of Light in exchange for this post. As always, all opinions are 100% honest and completely my own.
Hi Adrianne. Love your bathroom. With the floor stickers. Did you cover the grout as well. I can’t see it properly in photo Or do stickers only go over the tile area.
Thanks
Helen
I did end up covering the grout, just because it ended up looking better overall. Our grout is a cream color, so the shade difference made it look dirty against the bright white of the Quadrostyle. Ultimately I realized I could have went with the floor sticker (which comes as a sheet) instead of the floor tiles. That would have helped with the alignment. But either way, it still turned out great!
Hey Adrianne! Love this bathroom and thinking of using Quadrotile for my super small bathroom. How has this held up for you over the last year? Any issues or updates? I am so in love with how this looks for you. Hope my bathroom floor can look half this amazing.
Hi! This looks stunning. I’m wondering how the stickers have held up over the last few years?
