It seems just like yesterday that I was sharing with you our toddler joint “big boy” room (get a refresh here) and now look at us, upgrading to what really is a BIG boy room for my soon to be 6 and 5 year olds. Someone please tell me, where does the time go?!
As many of you know, we’ve added yet another little human to our family (love ya, Case!) which means our bedroom situation is getting pretty tight. With Cason occupying the nursery, it leaves just one other room upstairs for the boys to share. Aden and Hudson are both getting to the age where they are no longer (what I consider to be) toddlers, so upgrading to roomier kid beds became top priority for me. That’s where Maxtrix Kids Furniture comes in.
Maxtrix Kids really does have it all when it comes to kids furniture. They carry single beds, double and triple bunks, desks, bookshelves, storage solutions – they have it all and they will basically custom build you whatever works best for your space. They even have a store front here in Charleston, which I found really helpful to be to go there first to look at all of my options first-hand. They ship world-wide though and their site just got an amazing face-lift, so online shopping is also a breeze.
The Maxtrix team was fantastic to work with – from our very first meeting, walking me through the Mount Pleasant showroom to the design process. They made it a comfortable and easy experience from start to finish. The hardest thing I had to do was measure the boys’ bedroom and the team took over from there. They provided a rendering of the space with the furniture placed, handled all ordering, and even followed up once the furniture was ready to schedule the date of the install.
The bed arrived a few weeks after we ordered it, and Maxtrix sent an employee who assembled everything. All we had to do was have the space cleared for the install. It took just a few hours and everything was exactly as we had expected from going through the design process. The bed fit perfectly in the space since the design team was able to give exact measurements and provide a rendering prior to delivery to show us how the bed would look in the room. We intentionally blocked the door to the second-floor balcony as it was unused. Overall, it was super easy. We didn’t lift a finger! 😉
Be Sure to check out my instagram tonight at 8pmEST (@little_adi_co) because we are doing an amazing giveaway with Maxtrix (@maxtrixkidsfurniture) and some of the other participating brands like Lorena Canals, Ruggish, Rocky Mountain Decals, and Beddys. One lucky winner will receive over $1400 in prizes.
Now get ready for picture overload!
Even though the boys are no longer my itty bitty toddlers, they still have a ton of toys! I chose to stack two Maxtrix toy storage options together to form a cube. The boys find it super easy to clean up their space with the rolling toy bins and open cubbies. I also opted to add under-bed storage drawers to help minimize clutter and provide a place to store not only toys, but also extra bedding like pillows and blankets. This will definitely come in handy for all of those sleepovers when they’re a bit older!
The room is beyond amazing! It’s way better than we could have anticipated. The boys have wanted to be in it non-stop and the storage has just been phenomenal. Personally, I can’t stop staring at it because the furniture has really made the room come to life. Initially I had some minor anxiety that we’d lose space with such a large bed, but it has actually done the opposite. It’s provided SO much space and function to the room. I can’t speak highly enough about the changes.
Here are a few before shots of their previous set-up. As you can see, it was perfect for their transition to toddlers, but now with a few big kids on my hands, they outgrew it fairly quickly. (or maybe time is just a thief…. brb, crying.)
I think the best part about the Maxtrix system is the fact that the options are endless and you can reconfigure anytime you see fit. Our lives are ever changing, and I love that we can make minor adjustments to change the beds into whatever we need, whether that’s breaking the bunk down into single twin beds or adding a piece to the headboard to give a teenager a queen size bed. We’ll never lose the quality of the Maxtrix Furniture simply because we’ll never have to.
